Pick a variant of a sample linen shirt and the idealo site, and see the CSV row Feedora writes for it, or the reason the validation report gives for leaving it out.
Every variant is its own offer. Brand comes from the vendor, EAN from the variant barcode, colour and size from the options named Colour and Size, and material here from a product metafield you map. Amount and delivery cells are left as descriptions in this sample.

idealo reads your products from a CSV file with its own columns: the euro amount, delivery costs, delivery time, EAN, brand and a category. Shopify keeps those details in different places, or not at all.
Building the file by hand works once. Keeping it right every day is the hard part.
Each variant gets its own row with the euro amount buyers in Germany or Austria see in Shopify Markets, the compare-at amount, base unit, delivery costs and delivery time.
Delivery costs per carrier: flat, by weight or waived above an order value. Map brand, EAN, colour and size from fields, options or metafields, and give each product type an idealo category.
The validation report says why each variant is left out, such as a missing EAN, brand or image. Leave products out by tag or collection. The feed rebuilds every 6 hours, after you save a change in the app and when you press Build feed now, with no product limit.
Feedora writes one CSV file per idealo site with the columns of idealo’s CSV format, one row per variant. For the mapped columns you choose the source: the default, a Shopify field, a variant option, a product or variant metafield (for up to 10 columns), the same value for every product, or empty. When the source is empty for a product, the default is used.
| What idealo shows | Column | Where Feedora takes it from |
|---|---|---|
| Offer ID | sku | The variant SKU, or the variant ID when the SKU is empty. When two variants share a SKU, the second gets its variant ID and the report flags it. |
| Offer title | title | The product title, then the variant’s option values: Linen shirt - Blue / M. |
| Product page | url | The product’s Online Store page with the variant picked, under the store address you set for the market, plus UTM parameters (idealo, cpc, idealo to start; you can change or turn them off). |
| Amount | price | The euro amount Shopify gives buyers in Germany or Austria, Shopify Markets lists included. When your Shopify amounts exclude tax, the market’s VAT rate from Settings is added (19 percent for Germany and 20 percent for Austria to start). |
| Former amount | formerPrice | The compare-at amount, only when it is higher than the amount. |
| Base amount | basePrice | The amount per 1 kg, 1 l, 1 m, 1 m² or 1 m³, from the variant’s unit measurement in Shopify. Empty without one. |
| Delivery time | delivery | The market’s delivery time from Settings (1-3 Werktage for Germany, 2-4 Werktage for Austria to start), or a mapped field or metafield per product. |
| Brand | brand | The product vendor, or the source you map. |
| EAN / GTIN | eans | The variant barcode, or the source you map. Length and check digit are checked; a wrong one is left empty and flagged in the report. |
| Manufacturer part number | hans | Empty unless you map it, for example to a metafield. |
| Category | categoryPath | The idealo category path you give the product type, levels separated by >, else the Shopify product category. |
| Description | description | The product description as plain text, up to 1,000 characters. |
| Images | imageUrls | Up to 10 product images, separated by semicolons. The first is the main picture. |
| Packaging unit | packagingUnit | 1, or a whole number from the source you map. |
| Colour | colour | The variant option named Color, Colour, Farbe or Couleur, or the source you map. |
| Size | size | The variant option named Size, Größe or Taille, or the source you map. |
| Material | material | The variant option named Material or Matière, or the source you map. |
| Gender | gender | Empty unless you map it. |
| Condition type | conditionType | Empty unless you map it. Accepted values: NEW, AS_NEW, REFURBISHED or USED. |
| Condition | condition | Empty unless you map it. Accepted values: EXCELLENT, VERY_GOOD, GOOD or ACCEPTABLE. |
| Delivery cost per carrier | deliveryCosts_<carrier> | One column for each carrier you add to the market, up to 5: a flat cost or weight brackets, optionally waived from an offer amount you set. An offer no carrier can take is left out. Carriers: Deutsche Post, DHL, DHL GoGreen, Download, DPD, FedEx, German Express Logistics, GLS, GLS ThinkGreen, Hermes, PickPoint, freight forwarder, TNT, trans-o-flex and UPS. You can import them from your Shopify shipping rates. |
| Payment fee | paymentCosts_<method> | One column for each payment method in Settings, with the same fee for every offer. Credit card at 0.00 to start; also PayPal, prepayment, cash on delivery, direct debit, invoice, Amazon Pay, Electronic Payment Standard and Bizum. |
Always left out: gift cards, draft or archived products and products not on the Online Store. You can also leave out products by tag or by collection (up to 10), and sold-out variants and variants at 0.00, which are left out to start. The file is rebuilt every 6 hours, after you save a change in the app and when you press Build feed now. idealo decides which offers it lists.

Read products, to build the feed from your active products, variants, images and the metafields you map; read shipping, only when you import delivery costs from Shopify; and read locales. It does not read customers or orders.
No. Nothing is added to your theme. The feed links to your product pages, so it needs the Online Store channel, and your store must not be password-protected when idealo fetches the file.
No. It is a public app for the Shopify App Store. Your store needs a Shopify Markets market for Germany or Austria priced in euros.
The feed URL stops returning the file at once and no more builds run. Settings, feed files, build history and reports are deleted when Shopify sends its erasure request.
No. Feedora is not affiliated with or endorsed by idealo. It builds a CSV file in the format idealo's CSV importer reads; idealo decides which offers it lists.
