A nutrition facts table for supplement and nutrition brands, not a label photo

Supplement and nutrition brands often upload a photo of the pack label to the product images. Replace it with a nutrition table and ingredients the product page shows as real text, one label per flavour or size, with the label wording in the shopper's language.

Real text, not an image

The Food information block renders plain HTML text, so search engines, screen readers and translation tools read your nutrition table and ingredients like the rest of the page.

One label per variant

Give each flavour or tub size its own nutrition table, ingredients and allergens, and the product page shows the label of the variant the shopper picks.

Label wording in 10 languages

The label wording comes in 10 languages, and your own text can be translated into any published store language.

Per 100 g, from your own values

The nutrition table is per 100 g, which fits protein powders, bars and other foods. For a food supplement, keep the amounts per daily dose and the warnings in the product description, as they appear on the pack.

Nutrition table, ingredients with bold allergens and operator, as Reg. (EU) 1169/2011 lays them out

Coming from a label app built around the US Nutrition Facts panel? Etiketto shows the food information Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 requires on your product pages: a nutrition table per 100 g, ingredients with the allergens in bold, and the operator. When you have a question, ask in the chat inside the app.

Per 100 g, energy in kJ and kcal

Enter fat, saturates, carbohydrate, sugars, fibre, protein and salt per 100 g from your own specification or lab results. The block shows them as an EU nutrition table, not a per-serving panel.

Ingredients with allergens in bold

Mark an allergen with *asterisks* in the ingredient list and the product page shows it in bold. Only the words you mark are emphasised.

The operator on the product page

Add the name and address of the food business operator in the same form, and the Food information block shows it with the label.

Ask from inside the app

Chat from the app: the first answer arrives in seconds, and the team that builds Etiketto takes over when your question needs a person.

Setting up a food shop for a client? Import the labels by CSV, then check the catalogue

Agencies and freelancers often get a client's label details as a spreadsheet. Import them from a CSV, then use the catalogue check to see which products still have gaps in their label details before you hand the shop over.

Import from CSV

Bring the label details in from a CSV file, so a large catalogue does not have to be typed into the editor one product at a time.

Find the gaps with a catalogue check

The catalogue check shows which products still have gaps in their label details, so you know what is left before handover.

Finish the rest in the editor

Complete what is missing in the app's editor: one label per product, or one per variant for each flavour or size.

Add the block, then hand over

Add the Food information block to the product template of an Online Store 2.0 theme in the theme editor. The values come from you and your client; the app shows them as entered.

Food information that has to be right on every product page

Food shops selling into the EU have to show, under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, the same information a buyer finds on the pack before they buy: the nutrition declaration, ingredients with allergens emphasised, net quantity and the food business operator.

In Shopify that usually means metafields, a Liquid snippet and a table that breaks when the theme changes. When a recipe changes, someone has to remember every place it shows.

What you get

One editor per product

Everything EU law asks a web shop to show, and where it goes

For food sold online, Article 14 of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 asks for all the mandatory food information before the purchase, except the best-before or use-by date. This is each item and the field in Etiketto that holds it.

How to add an EU nutrition label to a Shopify product

  1. Install the app

It asks to read and write products, read themes and read your store's languages.

  2. Fill in each product

Enter the values from your own specification or lab results, and mark allergens with asterisks.

  3. Add the block

Place Food information on the product template in the theme editor and pick a layout.

What it does not do

Knowing the limits up front saves you an install.

  • It does not calculate values

Nutrition values come from you. The app shows them; it does not compute them from a recipe. To work out energy and the EU rounding from your raw values first, use the free EU nutrition label generator.

  • It does not detect allergens

Only the words you mark are emphasised.

  • It does not print labels or track lots

It is for product pages, not packaging or batch records.

  • It does not make a page compliant by itself

What you enter decides what the buyer sees. Check the rules that apply to your products.

Questions before you install

Something else? Write to hello@reply.getstorefleet.com.

How much does it cost?

The label itself is free: nutrition table, ingredients with bold allergens and translations, on every product. Pro is $5.99 a month or $59 a year, billed through Shopify, with a 7-day free trial. It adds the label evidence log, the ingredient library, saved supplier mappings and the weekly label check email.

Which Shopify permissions does it ask for?

Read and write products, to store the food information on each product; read themes, for the theme block; and read locales, to offer your store's published languages.

Do I need to change my theme?

No theme code changes. You add the Food information block to the product template in the theme editor. It needs an Online Store 2.0 theme.

Do I need Shopify Plus?

No. It is a public app on the Shopify App Store.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

The app's access ends at once. When Shopify sends its erasure request, the app's install record and support data are deleted. The food information stays on your products as metafields, so nothing you typed is lost.

Is the bold allergen text readable by search engines and screen readers?

Yes. The block renders plain HTML text, not an image, so search engines, screen readers and translation tools read it like the rest of the page.
