Where did the commercial invoice option go?
Merchants on the Shopify Community ask what happened to the commercial invoice option they relied on. Whether it moved, disappeared or no longer fits how they ship, each international order still needs its own document.
The fallback is often a spreadsheet filled in by hand: a description, an HS code, the country of origin, a weight and a value for every line, plus your EORI or IOSS number, typed again for every parcel. Or another app.
Customs Docs builds the commercial invoice, proforma invoice or CN23 from the order itself, using the customs data you already keep on your variants.

Missing customs data flagged before the parcel ships
Orders with a line missing its HS code, country of origin or other customs data are flagged before you print, so you fix the variant instead of finding out at the counter.

Commercial invoices, proforma invoices and CN23 declarations, from Shopify orders and draft orders, for one order or a batch.
Where do the HS codes and countries of origin come from?
From Shopify's own HS code and country of origin fields on your variants. The app shows which ones are missing; it does not choose a code for you.
Are my orders stored?

Does it send the documents to customs or my carrier?
No. It prepares the documents; you or your carrier submit them.
