An invoice that does not match the order is a second job

Discounts, refunds, shipping and tips change what a buyer actually paid. When an invoice adds it up its own way, the cents differ and your accountant asks why.

Invoices for buyers in the EU usually carry gapless numbers, a credit note for each refund and VAT notes such as reverse charge, in the buyer's language.

What it does not do

Knowing the limits up front saves you an install.

  • It does not calculate tax

    It prints the tax Shopify recorded on the order. For a one-off invoice outside Shopify, with VAT worked out per line, use the free Shopify invoice generator.

  • It does not send XRechnung or Peppol

    It makes PDF files, with Factur-X data attached to invoices.

  • It does not connect to accounting software

    Your accountant gets a monthly export instead.

  • It does not edit an issued invoice

    An issued invoice stays exactly as it was issued. Check the invoice rules that apply to your business.

How much does it cost?

Free covers documents for 50 orders a month with every document type, design and language. An order counts once a month, when it first gets a document; reprints and quotes do not count. Pro is $4.99 a month or $49 a year, billed through Shopify, with a 7-day free trial. It removes the order limit and adds credit notes for cancelled or edited orders, the VIES VAT check, payment reminders and email from your own domain. The template rebuild by our team is in early access and has no price yet.

Which Shopify permissions does it ask for?

Read orders, including orders older than 60 days, to print documents for any order; read customers and payment terms, for B2B buyer details and due dates; read draft orders, for quotes; read products, for variant images; and read locales. Write access to orders, draft orders and customers is asked for only when you first use Edit details.

Do I need to change my theme?

No. The app runs in Shopify admin. An optional block lets signed-in customers download their invoices from the order status page.

Do I need Shopify Plus?

No. It is a public app for the Shopify App Store.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

The app's access ends at once. When Shopify sends its erasure request, everything stored for your shop is deleted, issued invoices included, so export them before you uninstall.

Where are the documents made?

Packing slips and quotes are made in your browser and not stored. Invoices and credit notes are issued on our server and stored unchanged, so downloading one again gives the same file.
