Gift orders need more than a note box
A buyer who sends a gift wants it wrapped, wants a message inside and does not want the price on the packing slip. A note box in the cart catches part of it, as loose text someone copies onto a card by hand.
And wrapping that is not part of the order total is easy to forget to charge.

Offer up to 10 gift wrap options, each with its own price and photo. Each wrap is a variant of one unlisted product, so its price is part of the order total.

Messages within your rules
Buyers write a message in the Gift options block on the product page, the cart page or the cart drawer. Set a length limit and blocked words; an optional checkout rule stops orders that break them.

Cards and packing slips to print
Cards print in the occasion's design (Christmas, birthday, wedding and more) with your heading and colours: A6, postcard, or 4 per A4 or Letter sheet. Packing slips leave the prices out, for one order or many as one PDF or a ZIP. New gift orders can get a tag and the message in the order note, and buyers see their gift choices again on the thank-you and order status pages.

- Block text in English, German and French, and every text can be changed in the theme editor
Gift wrap
- Up to 10 wrap options, each with a name of up to 60 characters and its own cost
- An optional photo per wrap: PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 5 MB
- Each wrap is a variant of one unlisted Gift wrap product, kept by the app, so its cost is part of the order total
- The product does not show in search or collections
On the order
- Gift: Yes
- Gift wrap: the wrap name, plus the wrap as its own cart line
- Gift message: as the buyer wrote it
- Gift occasion: Christmas, Birthday, Thank you, Wedding or Valentine's Day
- Saved as cart attributes that Shopify copies to the order; the app keeps no copy
Message rules
- Require a gift message with gift wrap
- Maximum length from 20 to 500 characters; the cart cuts the message at the limit
- Blocked words: up to 100, each up to 40 characters, matched as whole words
- Checkout rule (a Shopify Function) stops a missing message, a message too long, a blocked word or a cart with only gift wrap
- Checkout messages in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch
- The rule never stops checkout when it cannot run
Cards
- Occasion designs: Christmas, Birthday, Thank you, Wedding, Valentine's Day and a plain card
- Per occasion: offered or not, its name in your store, heading, closing line, accent and paper colour
- Sizes: A6, postcard (6 × 4 in), four A6 cards per A4 sheet or four cards per Letter sheet
- Serif or sans serif, message size from 9 to 24 pt
- Optional recipient name from the shipping address
Packing slips and printing
- Packing slips list items, gift wrap, occasion and message, never amounts
- A4 or Letter paper, SKUs optional
- Several orders as one PDF or a ZIP with one PDF per order
- Print gift card from an order, or Print gift cards for selected orders in your Orders list
- PDFs are made in your browser
Wrap names, card texts and colours are yours to set. The app does not print shipping labels or email the recipient.

How much does it cost?
Free. There is no paid plan and no charge for any feature.
Which Shopify permissions does it ask for?
Read orders, to list recent gift orders for printing; write orders, only to tag new gift orders and add the gift message to the order note when you turn that on; read and write products and publications, to create the Gift wrap product and publish it to your online store; write validations, for the optional checkout rule; and read locales. It does not ask to read your themes: the setup guide checks the Gift options block without it.
Do I need to change my theme?
No theme code changes. Add the Gift options app block to the product or cart page in the theme editor, or turn on the app embed for a cart drawer. The block needs an Online Store 2.0 theme.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
No. It is a public app for the Shopify App Store. The optional checkout rule is a Shopify Function checkout validation; gift options, wraps and printing work without it.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
The app's access ends at once, and Shopify removes the app's settings from your store. The Gift wrap product stays until you delete it. Orders and messages were never stored by the app.
Where are gift messages kept?
On the order, as cart attributes saved through Shopify's cart. Cards are made in your browser. When you turn on tagging or the order note, our server reads each new order's gift details in memory to update that order and stores nothing; it never receives customer data.
